Dean of Yale School of Medicine, and parent of Rachelle JE ’09 and Kyle Alpern JE ’12. He has broad interests related to science and medicine, including undergraduate science education, premedical curricula, and the scientific basis of medical disease. In addition, he is interested in how academic institutions interface with industry to develop drugs and medical devises, resulting in improved healthcare. Interests outside of work include tennis and opera.
