Office of Undergraduate Admissions

Dr. Wendell Wallace-Juedes serves as Associate Director in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where he also holds the role of Director of Interviewing. In this capacity, he oversees the Alumni Schools Committee (ASC) interviewing program for Yale College and is responsible for reading and evaluating applications from a territory that spans Fresno, Bakersfield, Central & West LA, South Bay, San Gabriel and the Inland Empire. In addition to these responsibilities, Dr. Wallace-Juedes manages Yale’s optional interview platform for non-traditional applicants and plays an active role in reading and interviewing prospective students applying through the Eli Whitney Students Program. Before joining the admissions field, Dr. Wallace-Juedes was a practicing reconstructive foot and ankle surgeon. Though he is no longer in clinical practice, he has maintained both his medical license and board certification, just in case he ever feels called back to the operating room. Dr. Wallace-Juedes earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Xavier University of Louisiana, followed by a Master of Science in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology from Nova Southeastern University, and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Wallace-Juedes started his professional journey there conducting coatings research, teaching gifted and honors students science before relocating to Atlanta, GA where he continued serving as an educator. From there he relocated for medical school, where he met his husband, Scott Wallace-Juedes, in Ohio. Together, they have an energetic twelve-year-old son who keeps them on their toes with various extracurricular activities, with basketball being a clear favorite. As a family, they enjoy traveling both domestically and internationally, watching movies, playing board and card games, cheering on basketball, football, and tennis, and working on home renovation projects. Dr. Wallace-Juedes lives by two personal mottos: “Live your life for you”, which is a reminder to pursue what brings true happiness, and “Enrich your mind and heart”, because knowledge and compassion are enduring gifts we can share with the world.
