Ágnes Mócsy is a theoretical physicist and filmmaker whose work bridges science, art, and storytelling. She is Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and has held appointments at the Niels Bohr Institute, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and Michigan State University. At Yale, as a Presidential Fellow and Visiting Professor, she co-taught Being Human in STEM and created Physics Meets the Arts, an innovative course that used the Yale University Art Gallery’s collection to explore scientific ideas. In both, she deeply valued engaging with students in reimagining how science connects to our broader culture. Her recent feature documentary, Rare Connections, humanizes science by revealing its poetry, vulnerability, and creativity. A Hungarian native of Transylvania, Ágnes is passionate about making the sciences more inclusive and inspiring broad audiences through film, art, dance, and public talks.
